COLD WAR ! Preview Friday 5th December
"Oldknows studio group – one of the oldest artist studio groups in the Oldknows factory building is presenting a Cold War show to celebrate group’s cultural diversity and to exchange memories of the past.
Yelena Popova coordinator of the Actual Wall space said:
‘We conceived the Actual Wall as a space for debate, proposition and collaboration. The theme of the show was not chosen for any political reason, we felt would be good to share our personal memories from the period we all lived through.’
Work from OK studio artists and associates explore the rich theme of the Cold War from all angles offering plenty of opportunities for nostalgia and humour. The opening night will be sparkled with Simon Withers’s sonic interventions and live performances by Alison Garner, Simon Raven and Yelena Popova. Depicting the Cold War space race, Yelena’s Russian rocket will be launched to the ‘red planet’ Mars !

A Book Launch Event
You are invited to an event to launch the book
Soul Food, and Music: Research and Innovation for Creative Business
by Kim Errington, Neil Maycroft and Jim Shorthose
The details are as follows,

We gave Fish, Horses and Other Animals away for free to Nottingham Creative Network members. This time we have had to raise some extra money for the costs of design and print. And we have a plan to publish book 3 in the series. So we will be selling Soul Food, and Music for £10 per copy (which is cost price).
All money from such sales will go into the pot to cover the design and print costs of book 3, which we are half way through writing, and is called The Expansion of Care: Ethical Creativity and Business
So bring some money
Networking We will then be going back to Broadway for drinks and further discussion
So that we can keep an eye on the numbers of people to expect, could you let us know if you want to come, by emailing Sadaf on sadaf.amjad@ntu.ac.uk
